Child Victims

Not all victims of juvenile crime are children, but the number of child victims dramatically increases in Juvenile Court and District Court.
Child victims are afforded the same rights under the Victim Rights Amendment as adults.

Children can be victims of physical or sexual abuse. These offenses cause a variety of behaviors of trauma in children. These reactions can also be experienced by the significant adult(s) and/or siblings in the family. Therefore, when dealing with child victims, you must be aware that you may also be dealing with the entire family as victims.
