Remember, it is important to work with the prosecution team as you work through a case. Remember that all participants of the team must work together cooperatively to insure a successful prosecution.

Meeting with the victim is a vital part of prosecuting a case and it is important to the victim. This is an opportunity to get to know the victim, gain his/her trust and determine what type of witness s/he will be.

During a trial, it seems obvious that a victim may be traumatized while testifying and while the verdict is imposed. However it is important to recognize that victims are impacted at every stage of the trial process. Remember that a trial frequently triggers a re-grieving process.

Although victims of crime experience similar trauma responses, they do so for different reasons based on their type of victimization. Therefore there are different methods to consider when interacting with different types of victimization.
