MAN CONVICTED IN
DOUBLE MURDER
A Denver jury has
returned guilty verdicts against a man charged with two counts
of first-degree murder.
Travis Barnes
(DOB: 12-25-79) was convicted in the murders of 21-year-old
Billy McGhee and 17-year-old Ricky Turner. The men were found
dead in their home on March 4, 2002 suffering from fatal gunshot
wounds. The victims were acquainted with Barnes and let him
sleep at their home the night before they were murdered because
he had needed a place to stay.
The jury found
Barnes guilty of both murders after just a little more than
three hours of deliberations. Barnes will serve life in prison
without parole.
