WOMAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AFTER FIGHT

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a Denver woman with attempted murder after she and another woman fought over a missing purse.

Ericka Anderson (DOB: 04-17-74) is charged with attempted murder (F2), first-degree assault (F3) and vehicular assault - DUI (F4).

The charges allege that Anderson and a 30-year-old woman became involved in a physical altercation over the victim’s missing purse.  They had been at a Denver home with a group of people watching a Broncos game.  The charges further allege that Anderson got into her car, even though she’d been drinking, and intentionally ran over the victim.  The victim suffered serious bodily injury that included a broken leg and broken shoulder.

Anderson was detained at the scene in the 5000 block of East Thrill Place by witnesses and was taken into custody by Denver police officers.  She also had an outstanding arrest warrant for driving under suspension.

Anderson remains in the Denver County Jail.  Her bond has been set at $85,000.  She is set to be formally advised of the charges on Friday, October 22, 2004 at 9:00 in Denver County Court, room 12T.
