MAN SENTENCED IN TWO MURDER CASES

20-year-old Frederick Barker was sentenced today to two consecutive life terms for the 2002 murders of a Denver cab driver and a fast-food restaurant worker.

Clayton Black was shot and killed on August 12, 2002 at a Subway restaurant on Colfax Avenue where Barker had worked for a short time.  Two weeks later Babajide Kassim was shot and killed in his taxi on August 26, 2002 near 39th Avenue and Olive Street.

Barker was found guilty at trial of murder and aggravated robbery in both cases.
