ANOTHER MAN CHARGED FOR SKIPPING TB TREATMENT

A 40-year-old man being treated for pulmonary tuberculosis at Lutheran Medical Center has been charged with a misdemeanor for not cooperating with medical treatment required to cure him.

Earl Becker (DOB: 9-22-63) is charged with one count of failure to comply with a tuberculosis isolation and treatment order (M).

Becker is under a public health order from the Metro TB Clinic in Denver to undergo treatment for TB but has failed to comply with treatment orders.  Without the treatment, he could pose a public health risk to anyone with whom he came into contact.

Becker is scheduled to appear in Denver District Court, division 10, tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. (2-12-04) to be advised of the charge.

Another man, Gary Bryant, was charged with failure to comply earlier this year.
