MOM CHARGED IN BABY’S DEATH

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a woman with killing her 10-month old step-daughter.

Theresa Bergh (DOB: 3-26-79) is charged with child abuse resulting in death (F2).

Denver police responded to Bergh’s home in the 20000 block of Mitchell Place in northeast Denver on July 9, 2004 on a report of a baby not breathing.  10-month-old Aishah Bergh (9-13-03) was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

The investigation led to Bergh’s arrest on Monday, August 30, 2004.  She remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  Her bond has been set at $100,000.  She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 9 a.m. to be formally advised of the charge.
