Man Charged with Murder

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed charges today in the death of a Denver man on Valentine’s Day.

William Clare (DOB 4-9-59) has been charged with first-degree murder (F1) in the death of John Scott (DOB 11-27-37).  Scott allegedly sustained blunt force trauma to his forehead, back of his head, and the back of his hands.  He also had an upper and lower broken jaw.  He was found in Clare’s home on February 14, 2004 by Denver police who responded to a call from Clare’s brother.

Clare will remain in custody without bond until his second advisement on February 26, 2004 in Denver County Court, room 12T.
