Man charged with shooting of bartender at Sebastian Grill

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a man last Friday in connection with the shooting of a bartender at the Sebastian Grill in Downtown Denver.

William Davenport III (DOB:  12-16-75)  is charged with first-degree murder after deliberation (F1) and four counts of attempted first-degree murder (F2).

On November 8, 2004 at approximately 2:00 a.m. the Denver Police Department was dispatched to Sebastian’s Grill at 102 S. Broadway on a shooting.  Earlier in the evening, Desiderio Rodriguez, a bartender, broke up a fight and asked several people to leave.  The charges allege that after the bar closed, one of the men returned, shooting Desiderio several times.

Davenport will be advised of the charges on November 30, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver District Courtroom 12T.
