CHARGES FILED IN TWO CASES INVOLVING CHILD VICTIMS

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed charges in two separate cases against adults accused of causing harm to children:

 

Eugenia Davis (DOB: 04-14-72) is charged with child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury (F3).   The charge alleges that her 9-month old baby daughter faced life-threatening seizures after ingesting cocaine while in her care.  The child was taken to The Children's Hospital on Thanksgiving Day. Davis was arrested earlier this week.

 

She remains in custody in the Denver County Jail and will be formally advised of the charge on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 9 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T.

Keith Powell (DOB: 11-22-63) is charged with sexual assault on a child (F4) and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust (F3).  The charges allege that he sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl in his care earlier this year.

 

He remains in custody in the Denver County Jail and will be formally advised of the charges on Friday, December 17, 2004 at 9 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T.
