MAN CHARGED IN ARMORED CAR ROBBERY

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. formally charged a 19-year-old man today in connection with the December robbery of an armored car.

Daniel Dominguez (DOB: 8-25-84) is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery (F3) and conspiracy aggravated robbery (F4).

The charges allege that on December 8, 2003, Dominguez and two other men robbed an armored car employee as he was leaving a restaurant.  The employee was confronted by three men wearing Santa hats armed with two guns and a baseball bat.  The victim was robbed and sprayed with a chemical before the suspects fled in a vehicle.  The Denver Police Department identified Dominguez as a suspect, leading to his surrender on January 21, 2004.  The driver of the vehicle, Cassandra Gomez, was arrested earlier this month and has been charged with aggravated robbery and theft.

Dominguez remains in the Denver County Jail.  His bond was set at $250,000.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. to be advised of the charges.
