Men charged in shooting of Denver Detective’s son last Spring

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged two men today in the shooting death of a Denver Detective’s son that occurred last Spring.

Emmanuel Fisher (DOB: 12-5-83) and Eddie Butler Jr. (DOB:  01-26-86) are each charged with first-degree murder after deliberation (F1), first-degree murder extreme indifference (F1), and illegal discharge of a firearm (F5).

On April 20, 2004, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Denver Police Department was dispatched to Atchison Way and Maxwell Place on a shooting.  Officers found a vehicle in which the driver, Jeremy Phillips, had been shot.  The charges allege that Fisher and Butler were involved in the shooting.

Fisher and Butler will be advised of the charges on December 1, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver District Courtroom 12T.
