CRIME RING LEADER PLEADS GUILTY

A 47-year-old woman under indictment for running an organized crime ring in Denver has pleaded guilty in Denver District Court today.

Golda Harvey (DOB: 07-04-57) pleaded guilty to securities fraud (F3) and aggravated motor vehicle theft (F3).

Harvey was indicted by a Denver Grand Jury one year ago, accused of running a criminal enterprise that engaged in a variety of illegal schemes.  Harvey stole hundreds of thousands of dollars over the last several years through identity theft, equity skimming, security fraud scams and forgery.  In some cases she ruined people’s credit histories and forced victims into bankruptcy.

Harvey faces up to 48 years in prison when she is sentenced on February 11, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in Denver District Courtroom 13.

She remains in federal custody as she is currently serving a 5-year federal prison term for fraud from an earlier case.
