MAN CHARGED WITH
MULTIPLE COUNTS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a man accused of
sexual misconduct with children whom he was babysitting or whom
he had hired for household chores.
Erasmo
Hernandez-Maldonado (DOB: 11-24-49) is charged with four
counts of sexual assault on a child (F4) and one count of
sexual assault on a child, pattern of abuse (F3).
The charges allege
that Hernandez-Maldonado assaulted three children, ages 8, 10,
and 13 in March 2004 while their mother was cleaning his house.
The charges also allege he assaulted an 11-year-old girl in July
2004 after hiring her to do chores around his house.
Hernandez-Maldonado
remains in custody in the Denver County Jail. He is tentatively
scheduled to be formally advised of the charges on August 4,
2004 at 9:00 in Denver County Court, room 12T.
The Denver Police
Department is continuing its investigation and additional
charges are possible.
