GRANDSON CHARGED IN GRANDMOTHER’S MURDER

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a 24-year-old man from Florida with the murder of his grandmother in Denver last weekend.

 

Danny Pommerville (DOB: 5-6-80) was formally charged on Wednesday (August 18, 2004) with first-degree murder after deliberation (F1), first-degree felony murder (F1), and robbery (F4) after he was located in St. Petersburg, Florida and taken into custody.

 

The body of 64-year-old Jane Mazza was found late last Sunday in her home in the 2800 block of Yates Street.  Pommerville, her grandson, had recently arrived in town and became a suspect after both he and Mazza’s car disappeared last weekend.

MAN CHARGED IN SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE

 

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has charged a man in connection with a sexual assault on a child incident at a Denver retail store.

 

John Lambertson (DOB: 5-20-72) is charged with one count of sexual assault on a child (F4).

 

The victim, a 12-year-old girl, was in the store with her mother on August 3, 2004.  She reported that a man came up to her and grabbed her from behind, touching private parts.  Denver police were able to later identify Lamberston as a suspect.

 

He has been released from custody on $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on August 31, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. to be formally advised of the charge.
