Charges filed in child prostitution case

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges against a man today in a child prostitution case involving two teenage girls.

Derek Lattimer (DOB 02-27-67) is charged with two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor (F4), inducement of child prostitution (F3) and patronizing a prostituted child (F3).  The charges allege that Lattimer lured two 17-year-old runaways to a parking garage and later in a Denver motel room, provided illegal drugs and then sexually assaulted one of the girls.  The charges allege that both girls were later solicited to other males before they were able to contact the police.

Lattimer remains in custody in the Denver County Jail and faces advisement on June 10, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T.
