Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged three people in connection with a large fight that erupted in lower downtown Denver last summer.  The incident was videotaped by one of the participants and has remained under investigation.

20-year-old Bruce Harrell (11-01-84) is charged with two counts of third-degree assault (M1) and one count of engaging in a riot (M2).  He was charged on November 29, 2004 and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on January 11, 2005 for a plea and setting hearing.

21-year-old Todd Wells (09-27-83) is charged with three counts of third-degree assault (M1) and one count of engaging in a riot (M2).  He was charged on November 30, 2004 and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on December 20, 2004.

19-year-old Marquette Johnson (07-04-85) is charged with two counts of third-degree assault (M1) and one count of engaging in a riot (M2).  He was charged yesterday, December 1, 2004 and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on December 30, 2004.

The charges allege that Harrell, Wells and Johnson were involved in a large fight near 19th and Market Streets in the early morning hours of June 13, 2004.  Additional charges are expected to be filed against several others.
