DENVER MOTOR VEHICLE WORKER CHARGED

WITH BRIBERY

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a Denver Motor Vehicle worker today, following allegations that she was selling fraudulent temporary vehicle permits.  The investigation was conducted over the last several months by investigators in the Auto Industry Division of the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles.

Ana Luna (DOB:12-23-64) is charged with bribery (F3), conspiracy to commit bribery (F6), embezzlement of public property (F5), first-degree official misconduct (M2) and theft (M3).  She was arrested today and was booked into the Denver County Jail.  Her bond has been set at $10,000.

The charges allege that Luna created fraudulent temporary permits for vehicles and sold them for $40.  Luna was employed by the Denver Motor Vehicle office at 44th and Lowell Boulevard.  Her next court date is pending.

Others involved in buying the phony permits may also be charged.
