MAN SENTENCED IN LODO ASSAULT AND ESCAPE

Francisco Martinez (DOB: 2-10-75) was sentenced in Denver District Court yesterday in connection with a July 2003, nightclub fight. 

Martinez was sentenced to 6 years in the Department of Corrections for first-degree assault (F3) and escape (F4). 

Martinez struck another man in the neck with a beer bottle during a fight in a LoDo-area nightclub.  When police officers responded to another fight nearby, Martinez escaped     from the police car.  He was found hiding in a stairwell a short time later and was taken into custody at that time.
