A Denver Grand Jury has indicted a husband and wife accused of using prostitutes, gambling, extortion and drug sales to make money for the last several years.

The grand jury indictment was handed down on November 10, 2004 and was unsealed on November 16, 2004.  It alleges that Kim Nguyen conspired with others to make money by pimping, pandering, prostitution, gambling, extortion and selling drugs from at least May 2001 through September 2004.  She was arrested September 19, 2004 in connection with Denver’s largest-ever drug bust involving nearly 18,000 “Ecstasy” tablets.

Kim Nguyen has been released from custody on $50,000 bond.  Binh Nguyen has been released from custody on $10,000 bond.  Both appeared in Denver District Court this morning for advisement and are scheduled to back in court on November 29, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. in division 16 for their next appearance.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 2 felony is 8 to 24 years in prison, 4 to 12 years for a class 3 felony, and 2 to 6 years for a class 4 felony.  Misdemeanors are punishable by not more than 18 months in the county jail.
