PLEA ACCEPTED IN PURSE SNATCH CASE

 

 

Mercedes Padilla (DOB: 5-30-64) pleaded guilty today to one count of robbery of an  at-risk adult (F3).

 

 

Padilla, along with co-defendant Hector Hernandez, faced charges for the purse snatching of an 80-year-old Denver woman while she unloaded groceries from her car in January 2003. 

 

 

Sentencing for Mercedes Padilla is scheduled for February 23, 2004, at 8:30 a.m. in Denver County Court, Division 23.  The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 3 felony is up to 12 years in prison.  Hector Hernandez, who is facing multiple felony charges in similar cases, is scheduled for arraignment on February 17, 2004 at 8:30 a.m., Division 23.
