Charges Filed in Child Abuse Death

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed charges today in connection with the death of an 11-month old boy last Thursday.  Braedon Walters was taken to Swedish Medical Center by ambulance on March 4, 2004 and was later pronounced dead.

Khristopher Pardue (DOB 10-23-84) is charged with first-degree murder (F1)* and child-abuse resulting in death (F2).  The charges allege that Pardue punched the boy multiple times in the head and ribs.

Pardue remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  He is being held without bond.  Pardue will be formally advised of the charges on Thursday, March 11, 2004 in Denver County Courtroom 12T at 8:30 a.m.
