Man
Charged in Vehicular Homicide Case
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. formally charged a man today in
connection with a hit and run death on
March 9, 2004.
Jerome Peals
(DOB 4-27-75)
is charged with vehicular homicide-DUI (F3), vehicular
homicide-reckless (F4), and leaving the scene of an
accident resulting in death
(F4) in the death of his brother.
The charges
allege that Peals was drinking and driving when he accidentally
struck and killed his 27-year-old brother, Robert Peals, while
driving on Colorado Boulevard at Florida Avenue. Jerome was
later found inside his car which had crashed into a dumpster in the 4800
block of Exposition.
Peals remains in
custody at the Denver County Jail and will appear in Denver
County Court on March 16, 2004 at 9:00 a.m.
in courtroom 12T for advisement. His bond is set at $50,000.
