Couple charged with Qwest computer fraud

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has filed charges against a couple accused of stealing from their employer while working at Qwest Communications.

Rogelio Robledo (DOB 07-17-70) and Heather Papiernik-Robledo (DOB 09-07-77) are each charged with Theft (F3), Computer Crime (F3) and Conspiracy to Commit Theft (F4).

The charges allege that from August 2002 through March 2003 Mr. Robledo manipulated the payroll system at the Qwest Communications office in Denver altering hourly salary amounts issuing phony reimbursements.  Direct deposits totaling $62,000 were allegedly made to four different accounts including the account of his wife who worked within the same building.

The theft was discovered in March 2003 during an audit.  The Robledo’s have been released from jail on $20,000 bond each.  They will be advised of the formal charges on July 6, 2004 at    9:00 a.m. in District County Courtroom 12T.
