KIDNAPPER SENTENCED

Darlene Rueda-Banuelos (DOB: 5-25-73) was sentenced in Denver District Court today in connection with a kidnapping last summer.

Rueda-Banuelos was sentenced to 4 years of intensive supervision probation for her earlier guilty plea to second-degree kidnapping.  The conditions of her probation include a restraining order protecting the victim and the victim’s family. She is banned from hospital maternity wards and must comply with other treatment programs as required by the probation department.  If Rueda-Banuelos violates any of the terms of her probation she will face 6 years in the Department of Corrections.

Rueda-Banuelos befriended the baby’s mother shortly after his birth and later kidnapped the child while they were on a walk.
