CHARGES FILED IN WOMAN’S MURDER

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter has formally charged a man accused of murdering a 21-year-old woman whose body was found in her home in the 100 block of Lowell Boulevard last weekend.  He has also charged a woman with being an accessory.

21-year-old Robert Sandoval-Candelaria (DOB: 06-18-83) is charged with first-degree murder (F1).

19-year-old Amber Trujillo (DOB: 02-06-85) is charged with accessory to a crime (F5).

The charges allege that Sandoval-Candelaria shot and killed his girlfriend, Sarah Heine, then took their 2-month old daughter.  The daughter was found with Sandoval-Candelaria’s mother two days later, on Wednesday, November 24th.  Sandoval-Candelaria and Trujillo were then found at Trujillo’s home in Federal Heights and were taken into custody later that evening.

Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be advised of the charges on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 9 a.m.  Sandoval-Candelaria is being held without bond.  Trujillo remains in custody; her bond was set at $100,000.
