VENDOR THIEF ROUNDED UP AT THE STOCK SHOW

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has rounded up formal charges against a man who was working as a security guard at the National Western Stock Show.  He is accused of helping himself to merchandise in vendor booths after hours.

Russell Segner (DOB: 3-7-83) is charged with theft – series (F4).

Over the course of the stock show, a half-dozen different vendors reported items missing from their booths, including boots, a coat, a belt, and even a neon sign.  On January 24, 2004, a Denver police officer who was also providing security at the stock show confronted Segner after seeing him take an item out to his car.

Segner remains in custody; his bond is $3,000.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Monday, February 2, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. to be advised of the charge against him.  The presumptive range for sentencing on a class4 felony is up to 6 years in prison.
