Reckless Driving leads to Vehicular Homicide

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today in an accident on I-70 that resulted in the death of a Denver woman on February 21, 2004.

Edgar Vasquez-Garcia (DOB 10-9-84) was charged with vehicular homicide (F4) and reckless driving (M2) in the death of Pamela Garcia-Vasquez.  Vasquez-Garcia was allegedly traveling I-70 near Pecos St at an excess of 90 miles per hour when he lost control of the car and struck a light pole.  Vasquez-Garcia and two other passengers were transported to Denver Health Medical Center.  Pamela Garcia-Vasquez was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Vasquez-Garcia remains at Denver Health on police hold.  He will be scheduled for a second advisement after his release.
