RICHARD WHITE INDICTED ON MULTIPLE FELONY COUNTS

 

A Denver Grand Jury has returned a 53-count indictment against Richard Paul White today accusing him of murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and other violent crimes. 

 

The indictment alleges that White kidnapped, falsely imprisoned and sexually assaulted five women between August 2002 and February 2003.  The indictment alleges that he murdered two of those women and attempted to murder a third.  The bodies of the two murder victims were discovered in September 2003.

 

White (DOB: 10-29-72) is charged by indictment with:

·        First-degree murder after deliberation (F1) – two counts

·        First-degree felony murder (F1) – two counts

·        Sexual assault (F2) – six counts

·        Kidnapping (F2) and (F3) – eight counts

·        Attempted first-degree murder – one count

·        First-degree assault (F3) – one count

·        False imprisonment (F5) and (M2) – five counts

·        Menacing (F5) – three counts

·        Third-degree assault (M1) – two counts

·        Crime of violence sentencing enhancer – 23 counts

 

White is currently in custody in the Arapahoe County Jail in connection with another case.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver District Court, division 9, on June 2, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. to be formally advised of the charges.
