WHITE SENTENCED
TO LIFE IN PRISON
Richard Paul
White (DOB: 10-29-72) was sentenced to two consecutive life
terms in prison plus 144 years indeterminate-to-life today in
Denver District Court today in connection with the murders of
two women in Denver and the sexual assault of three other women
who survived their attack.
White pleaded guilty
in September to two counts of first-degree murder (F1)
and three counts of sexual assault with a deadly weapon
(F2). As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors did not seek
the death penalty and White cooperated in the search for other
victims he claimed to have killed. Family members of
32-year-old Victoria Turpin and 27-year-old Annaletia Gonzales
spoke at the hearing, as well as two of the surviving victims.
District Court Judge R. Michael Mullins imposed the maximum
sentence possible.
Efforts continue to
try to identify a woman whose remains were found near Mesita,
Colorado. White has worked with a sketch artist to create a
composite drawing of the victim and has provided personal
details that he remembers. The information is posted at:
