SUSPECT IN GOOD SAMARITAN
SHOOTING CHARGED AS AN ADULT
--BROTHER CHARGED IN RELATED
CASE--
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged a
17-year-old as an adult in connection with an attempted robbery
and shooting that occurred last fall.
Michael Cordova
(DOB: 11-17-87)
is charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder
(F2), first-degree assault (F3), attempted aggravated
robbery (F4) and third-degree assault of an at-risk adult
(F6).
The charges allege that Cordova tried to rob a 63-year-old woman
of her purse as she was getting into her car near 8th
and Santa Fe and that he shot and wounded a man who tried to
intervene. Three others accused in the attack with Cordova have
already pleaded guilty.
Michael Cordova will be transferred to the Denver County Jail
from the Gilliam Youth Center. His bond is set at $50,000. He
is scheduled to appear in Denver District Court, division 17, on
February 22, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. to be advised of the charges.
Andrew Cordova
(DOB: 08-10-84)
was charged last week with four counts of intimidation of a
witness (F4). The charges allege that he made threats
against witnesses in his brother’s case. He will appear in
Denver County Court, room 12T, on February 15, 2005 at 9 a.m. to
be formally advised of the charges. He remains in custody in
the Denver County Jail. His bond is set at $10,000.
