MAN CHARGED WITH IMPERSONATING AN
OFFICER
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally charged a man
accused of impersonating a police officer and then stealing a
man’s wallet.
Wesley Faussett
(dob: 06-02-61)
is charged with one count each of robbery (F4) and
impersonating a peace officer (F6).
The charges allege that Faussett approached a man who was
parking his car near 15th and Champa Streets on
December 11, 2005 and claimed to be an undercover police
officer. He reportedly asked for the man’s identification,
registration and proof of insurance and then grabbed the man’s
wallet when he tried to comply and ran off. The victim gave
chase and was able to flag down a Denver police officer.
Faussett will be advised of the
charges on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 9 a.m. in Denver County
Court, room 12T.
