CHARGES FILED IN AIRPORT VANDALISM CASES

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a man accused of vandalizing cars at Denver International Airport over the last 8 months.  The charges were filed in Denver County Court last week, on August 9, 2005.

Alexis Fecteau (DOB: 12-05-62) is charged with eight counts of criminal mischief (one count is a class 4 felony, two counts are class 2 misdemeanors, and five counts are class3 misdemeanors).

The charges allege that, on at least eight different occasions between December 2004 and July 2005, Fecteau damaged vehicles in the DIA parking lot by painting and scratching them.

Fecteau was arrested on August 5, 2005 and was released from custody on a $5,000 bond.  He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on August 23, 2005 at 9 a.m. to be advised of the charges.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 4 felony ranges from probation up to 6 years in prison; the range on a class 2 misdemeanor is probation up to 12 months in jail; the range on a class 3 misdemeanor is probation up to 6 months in jail.
