MAN GETS MAX
FOR ARSON DEATH
A man accused of murdering another
man by pouring gasoline on his bed and lighting it on fire last
year was sentenced to 63 years in prison today.
Edward Hudson
(DOB 11-20-62)
pleaded guilty earlier to second-degree murder (F2) and
first-degree arson (F3) in connection with the death of
29-year-old William Williams on February 13, 2004. He was
found inside a burning apartment at 2232 ½ Ogden Street and was
later identified through DNA.
Denver Deputy
District Attorney Geanne Moroye sought the maximum sentence on
behalf of the victim's wife, mother, and brothers who attended
the sentencing hearing. Hudson spoke at the hearing,
offering an apology to the family.
Hudson was sentenced to 48 years in
prison for second- degree murder and 15 years for first-degree
arson. The sentences will be served consecutively.
