LAWYER WHO STOLE MILLIONS DRAWS
PRISON TIME
A former probate lawyer accused of stealing millions of dollars
from his clients has been sentenced to 32 years in prison today.
Wiley Todd Linville
(DOB: 10-10-58)
was sentenced on three counts of felony theft and one count of
forgery by Denver District Court Judge William Robbins. He had
pleaded guilty to those counts earlier this year.
Denver Chief Deputy DA Joe Morales had urged the judge to give
Linville a maximum sentence for stealing from people who trusted
him. Although it is unlikely Linville will be able to pay full
restitution to his victims, Morales asked that restitution be
ordered for nearly three and a half million dollars in losses.
Linville, who has spent almost a year in jail awaiting the
conclusion of the case against him, was led out of the courtroom
in handcuffs.
