GRANDMOTHER CHARGED IN TODDLER DEATH

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a grandmother in the death of a two-year-old granddaughter who died after being left in a car exposed to extreme summer heat.

Yvonne Mabry (DOB: 08-19-69) is charged with child abuse resulting in death (F2).

The charge alleges that Mabry’s 2-year-old granddaughter, Elizabeth Buchmiller, was in Mabry’s care when she was left in a car on July 8, 2005 and died.

Mabry remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  Her bond is set at $50,000.  She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on July 19, 2005 at 9 a.m. to be formally advised of the charge.
