GUILTY VERDICT IN POMMERVILLE TRIAL

A Denver jury returned guilty verdicts today against a man accused of murdering his grandmother last fall.

Danny Pommerville (DOB: 05-06-80) was found guilty of first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree felony murder, robbery and first-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft.  The jury deliberated just a little more than a day before reaching the verdict.  The prosecutors were Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey and Chief Deputy DA Bruce Levin.

Pommerville went to immediate sentencing in front of Denver District Court Judge William Robbins, who sentenced him to life in prison without parole.

The body of 64-year-old Jane Mazza was found on August 15th, 2004 on the kitchen floor in her Denver home.  Pommerville had come to Denver from Florida and was accused of beating his grandmother to death and then stealing her car.  He was arrested later in Florida.
