YOUNG MAN CHARGED IN FRIEND’S
DEATH
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged a
19-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a
life-long friend.
Adrien Ramsey
(DOB: 04-17-86) is charged with criminally negligent homicide
(F5).
The charge alleges that Ramsey and his friend, 19-year-old Ray
Russell, were at Ramsey’s home on August 25, 2005 when a shotgun
they were handling went off and injured Russell. He later died
at Denver Health Medical Center.
Ramsey remains in the Denver County Jail. His bond has been set
at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court,
room 12T, on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 9 a.m. to be formally
advised of the charge.
The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 5 felony is up
to 3 years in prison.
