EX-BOYFRIEND CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a man accused of beating his ex-girlfriend, sexually assaulting her, and keeping her in his home against her will.

Patrick Richmond (DOB: 11-23-69) is charged with sexual assault (F2), second-degree kidnapping (F2), and first-degree assault; menacing (F3).

Richmond and his ex-girlfriend went out on Saturday night, June 18, 2005, and later returned to his residence.  The charges allege he forced her into the basement, wouldn’t let her leave, and then assaulted her.

She was able to get away the next morning and immediately called her mother and the police.

Richmond remains in custody at the Denver County Jail.  His bond has been set at $50,000.  He is scheduled to be formally advised of the charges on June 24, 2005 in Denver County Courtroom, 12T.
