WOMAN CHARGED WITH RETALIATION AGAINST A WITNESS

The daughter of a man charged with sexually assaulting a foster child has now been charged with a crime relating to the case against her father.

Jeanette Marie Rico (5-21-68) is charged with retaliation against a witness (F3).

The charges allege that on March 26th, 2005 Rico followed and harassed a witness in her father’s sexual assault case, yelling threatening statements from a car before driving off.  Rico was arrested April 9, 2005 and has been released from jail on $15,000 bond.  She is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on April 26, 2005 to be formally advised of the charges.

Lujan was charged last November with four counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.  The charges allege he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old foster child who was in his care.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 3 felony is up to 12 years in prison.
