INVESTIGATION CONCLUDES WITH NO
CHARGES
The investigation of allegations
of wrongdoing leveled by a former Jefferson County Commissioner
has concluded without the filing of criminal charges.
Rick Sheehan made a formal
complaint in late November 2004, alleging that he was the victim
of threats and extortion by people active in county politics.
The allegation was turned over to the Colorado Bureau of
Investigation in January 2005 for further investigation. The
results of the investigation were turned over to the Denver DA’s
Office for a decision on the filing of charges.
The Denver District Attorney’s
Office has concluded that there was no likelihood of proving any
criminal intent.
The decision not to file criminal
charges has been relayed to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
as the investigating agency as well as other involved parties.
