YOUNG WOMAN CHARGED IN DRIVE-BY
SHOOTING
Denver District Attorney Mitch
Morrissey has charged an 18-year-old woman in connection with a
drive-by shooting at a fast food restaurant that occurred in
April. The shooting left two young men and a young woman
injured by gunfire.
Monique Trujillo
(DOB:
05-01-87) is charged with six counts of attempted
first-degree murder (F2), three counts of first-degree
assault (F3), conspiracy to commit first-degree murder
(F2), and accessory to crime (F5). Trujillo was 17 at
the time of the shootings and has been charged as an adult in
this case.
The charges allege that Trujillo
conspired with two others to try to kill a former boyfriend.
The charges further allege that Trujillo and two others drove by
a fast-food restaurant at 2850 W. Alameda Avenue on April 3,
2005 and fired shots, leaving three people injured. The
investigation eventually led to identifying Trujillo as a
suspect and she was arrested on June 22, 2005.
She is scheduled to appear for
her first advisement on July 5, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. in Denver
District Courtroom 16. Trujillo remains in custody at the
Denver County Jail. Bond is set at $150,000.
