WHITE PLEADS GUILTY IN TRAFFIC CASE

Vincent White (DOB: 09-11-63) pleaded guilty to a class two traffic charge of speeding earlier today in Denver County Court.  White was fined $200 and ordered to pay standard fees and court costs.  He also was assessed 6 points against his driver’s license for traveling 60 miles an hour in a 35 mph zone.

White was recently appointed to fill a judicial vacancy in the 18th Judicial District.

White was pulled over for speeding on January 7, 2005 on Park Avenue West at about Globeville Road and was arrested for investigation of speeding, careless driving and DUI.  White refused to take a roadside sobriety test and later refused to submit to a blood draw.  White was advised of the expressed consent law in Colorado under which a person who refuses such testing has their driver’s license suspended for a year by the Colorado Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division.

The DUI charge and a careless driving count were dismissed as part of the plea agreement today because there was no likelihood of conviction and no reasonable belief that those two counts could be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
