NO CHARGES IN BOXER’S DEATH
A formal review of the death of a
boxer has been completed and it has been determined there is no
basis for criminal charges.
34-year-old Becky Zerlentes died
April 3, 2005 at Denver Health Medical Center after suffering a
fatal injury during a boxing match being held at the National
Western Complex in Denver.
Boxing is regulated by Colorado
law. The athletic event was conducted in accordance with all
applicable regulations and there were no reckless or negligent
actions on the part of anyone involved.
