CHARGES FILED IN AGENT-INVOLVED SHOOTING

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. has formally charged a man accused of menacing an FBI agent last weekend in the 1100 block of Albion Street.

Joshua Baldwin (DOB: 5-1-85) is charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft (F3) and felony menacing (F5).

The charges allege that Baldwin was under surveillance by an FBI Special Agent when Baldwin pulled a gun on him.  The agent fired several shots as Baldwin fled in a stolen vehicle that was later recovered near Colorado Boulevard and Colfax Avenue.  Baldwin was later taken into custody at 270 S. Elliott Street.  Neither the agent nor the defendant was injured.

Baldwin remains in the Denver County Jail.  His bond has been set at $50,000.  He will appear in Denver County Court on Monday, November 3, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. to be formally advised of the charges.
