CASE UPDATES
Robert Smith (DOB:
12-30-52) was formally charged today with one count of
unlawfully carrying a firearm in a public transportation
facility (F6). The charge alleges that Smith was going through
security at DIA on October 28, 2002 when screeners noted what
appeared to be a firearm in his carry-on luggage. Smith will be
advised of the charge on November 13, 2002 at 9 a.m. in Denver
County Court room 12T.
Maurice Farris
(DOB: 8-30-86) was formally charged as an adult today in
connection with the murder of 42-year-old Charles Dixon on
October 6, 2002. Dixon was found with a gunshot wound to the
chest at Colfax and Verbena Street. Farris was arrested last
week.
A man who allegedly
escaped from the Denver County Jail via a trash chute was
formally charged yesterday, October 28, 2002, with escape.
Estuardo Varco (DOB: 5-11-77) was originally in jail for an
18-month misdemeanor sentence for tampering. He now faces an
additional misdemeanor escape charge.
