TWO CHARGED IN
JAIL ASSAULT
Denver District
Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. charged two city jail inmates today
with trying to sexually assault a fellow inmate.
Jose Castillo
(DOB: 12-20-71) and Alfredo Escobar-Ollguinn (DOB:
3-9-58) are charged with unlawful sexual contact using force
(F4) and attempted sexual assault (F4).
The charges allege
that on April 29, 2003 Castillo and Escobar-Ollguin tried to
sexually assault a 19-year-old man in the city jail facility at
1351 Cherokee Street. Another inmate who heard a commotion
intervened and reported the incident to deputies.
Castillo and
Escobar-Ollguinn are scheduled to appear in Denver County Court,
room 12T, on Thursday, May 21, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. to be formally
advised of the charges.
