CHARGES FILED IN DOUBLE HOMICIDE

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today in connection with the shooting deaths of two people last week.  The victims, Billy McGee (DOB 1-15-81) and Ricky Turner (DOB 5-20-84), were found in their residence on March 4, 2002 suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

 Travis Barnes (DOB 12-25-79) is charged with two counts of first-degree murder after deliberation (F1).

 Barnes is being held at the Denver County Jail without bond.  His next court appearance is tentatively scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. in Denver County Court, room 12T, to be advised of the charges.

HUSBAND CHARGED IN HAMMER ATTACK

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. formally charged a Denver man today in connection with the murder of his wife.  Brianna Rosales-Ayala (DOB 10-11-80) died on March 10, 2002 after being attacked with a hammer.

 Carlos Rosales-Ayala (DOB 10-4-77) is charged with first-degree murder after deliberation  (F1).

 Rosales-Ayala remains in custody at Denver Health Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.  His next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
