CHARGES FILED IN BABY’S DEATH

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. filed formal charges today against a man in connection with the death of his 10-month-old son last week. 

Jamie Christian (DOB: 6-7-69) is charged with child abuse resulting in death (F2).  His son, Zelan Christian, died from a fatal blow to the abdomen.

Christian remains in custody in the Denver County Jail.  He is tentatively scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, on Friday, December 13, 2002 at 8:30 a.m. to be advised of the charge against him.

The presumptive range for sentencing on a Class 2 felony is 8 to 24 years in prison.
