DENVER DA TO APPEAL BARNUM DECISION

Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, Jr. announced today that he
will seek a Colorado Supreme Court review of a recent appellate decision
in the Jeremiah Barnum case.
Ritter will file a writ of certiorari requesting that a recent Colorado
Appeals Court ruling be reviewed by the state's high court. The appellate
decision held that Barnum is entitled to a new trial.
*The filing of a criminal charge is merely
a formal accusation that an individual(s) committed a crime(s)
under Colorado laws. A defendant is presumed innocent until
and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
